February 25 – Afternoon Picks

The Anaheim Ducks don’t have to travel too far for today’s game facing the Los Angeles Kings. Anaheim is sitting in a playoff spot while the Kings are on the outside looking in. Today marks the return of a desperately needed Jonathan Quick for the Kings, but will he be the Quick we have seen in the past?

The pick – Kings take the game at home with the return of their golden boy.

The Islanders are coming off one of the best games they have played this season and have seen their season turn around significantly under the coaching styles of Doug Weight. The Blue Jackets are having a rough time at home having gone 3-3-0 during its current 17-day stint at home. Will the Blue Jackets have a successful home game or will the streaking Islanders continue their winning ways on their longest road trip of the season.

The pick – The Islanders will spoil the home teams hopes of winning at home by a score of 4-2. (Yeah… we went there with a score prediction.)

The league leading Capitals take a trip to Smashville with their backup in net giving Holtby a well deserved rest. Philipp Grubauer comes into the game with a 10-4-2 record and 3 shutouts. The Caps face a Predators team at home with one of the largest fan bases in the NHL. Will the “Seventh Man” be loud enough to halt Ovi and the Caps?

The pick – Sorry… Caps will take this game and continue to hover above the rest of the league.

The NY Rangers take a trip to the rock with their backup in net giving the King a rest. Both goalies have a GAA above 2.3 so expect this to be a high scoring game. The Rangers sit 3rd in the Metropolitan while Jersey is a couple of spots back in 7th.

The pick –  Rangers take the win

Stay tuned for the evening edition of the Passi Parlay.
