March 1 Picks

Yesterdays Picks = 6-6… Started out really well, then those pesky overtime and shoot out games messed with our picks!

Two teams who were active in trading, face off tonight in Tampa Florida. Carolina needs to make sure they stay out of the box as the Lightning are second in the league on the power play with a 22.7% success rate. That is quite unfortunate as the Hurricanes love to take penalties as they are 1st in the league, a statistic you do not want to be number 1 in.

The Pick – We are going with Tampa Bay in this game.

So the Blackhawks are just nasty at home, and they have also been on a 4 game winning streak. If there is a team in the league that can spoil those statistics, it is the Pittsburgh Penguins. Pens are first in the league in goals per game and second in shots on goal, so expect this to be a pretty good scoring game, as the Hawks are not too shabby themselves in those areas. Crawford will not be in net for Chicago as he is still out battling an illness, but with Scott Darling as the back up, it may not be an issue.

The Pick -The Chicago Blackhawks take this one.
